World Time Attack

Yokohama World Time Attack

ADVAN Nissan GTR R34 Time Attack Car

In truth Yokohama World Time Attack exists due to this car. Its owners Mark Berry and Russell Newman took their previous Nissan GTR R32 to the RevSpeed Tsukuba Circuit Superlap Battle in Japan. They realised they needed a lighter, lower and more aerodynamic car to take on the Japanese tuning companies. So with help from sponsors like Hi Octane Racing and Yokohama ADVAN Australia they built the ADVAN / Hi Octane Nissan GTR R34 Time Attack car.

The owner of Hi Octane Racing and Superlap Ian Baker was frustrated trying to get the car to Japan. RevSpeed wouldn't announce the date of the Superlap Battle early enough to ship the car over. It was too difficult. So a simple solution (apparently) was to bring the overseas competitors to Australia.

Yokohama World Time Attack Po Class 2012

Yokohama World Time Attack 2012 was successful despite freezing and windy conditions. In competition the Cyber Evo never got going and the new American team didn't show. The strong Japanese contenders turned up in new cars which had done very little testing. As a result the Australian teams dominated.
